Today’s continually globalizing, complex business and competitive environments require business to shift their focus from one which is centered on the firm to a far broader network-based focus. This shift in focus, precipitated by a scarcity of resources, demands a strategy which accounts for the various complexities of the continually fluctuating logics within different value creating domains. The increasing significance of the extended network in the business world is ably complemented by a greater focus on regional development in city planning. The existing models of city planning must also be redesigned to more comprehensively integrate the opinions and feedback of citizens.
These topics formed the basis of a presentation delivered by Dr. Johan Wallin at Synocus’ 10th anniversary event on April 1st 2011. Included is the PowerPoint presentation (pdf) presented at the event.
