Synocus’s study on capabilities for innovation activities breaks new ground

Tekes has published an impact study conducted by Synocus, “Capabilities for Innovation Activities” (Review 291/2012) this week. The study was part of an overall assessment of Tekes’s success in achieving its objectives. In conducting this study Synocus worked in close cooperation with leading international researchers.

In his foreword, the Chairman of the Steering Group, Antti Valle of the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy, states that this study was especially challenging as there are no proven methodologies available to measure the impact of public financed actions in capability building. The Ministry was also impressed by the conceptual framework developed in the study that supports the evaluation of the impact of Tekes’s operations; one which may prove a useful tool for further analyses of innovation policy impact.

Building on the foundation provided by the report, Synocus is seeking additional possibilities to further develop new ways to strengthen Finnish innovation capabilities.
